Vintage Rare Disney 1989 Little Mermaid Musical Light Up Water Globe NO BOX
Does not have original box?? Just going by the release year of the movie. Cld be 1990????? Someone else has it listed as 1988 but that’s a year before the movie was released. Brand new batteries included?? The battery cover is missing but does not effect it working. Also when we bought it it was missing the winder for the music. The only thing I had was from another rotating music box so I used it. Its actually kinda cool cause you get to see 360° of the globe… Idk why they didn’t make this rotating in the 1st place. The water has just a tiny bit of yellowing to it. Can’t see anything broken. This is a really neat collectable! Ariel’s treasure trove! If you have any questions, please ask. In good pre-owned condition- has 2 chips (one of Ursula’s fingers is missing and a chip in the fin of one of the eels as pictured) Please see all photos for condition and measurements. Tried to clean as best as I could – probably needs a more detailed cleaning – please refer to photos. Release Date: August 11, 2003 Hand-painted sculpted resin statue of Maleficent as Dragon inspired by her appearance in Walt Disney’s Sleeping Beauty animated film (1959), towering above and breathing fire onto a snow globe containing iridescent glitter that swirls when the snow globe is shaken and featuring Prince Phillip rearing his mighty horse, Samson, facing off with Maleficent at the gates of King Stephan’s Castle surrounded by a Forest of Thorns. Maleficent’s eyes and flames are cast in a translucent yellow resin are supposed to light-up with a switch located under the base. I tested this and the eyes did not light up. The snow globe plays “Once Upon A Dream” while Prince Phillip and Samson move up and down, all activated with a wind-up key that is located on the underside of the base. I tested this and it functioned correctly with the music playing and the prince moving. I’ve tried to capture any damage in the pictures. The top spike of the dragon has broken off and there are 2 small chips I noticed. One on the right side and one on the front left. Otherwise it’s in good shape for being 20+ years old.
